# Helix (open-source developer tool)

> Helix is a free, open-source developer tool for Windows, macOS and Linux. A post-modern modal text editor. It has 46,506 GitHub stars and is released under the MPL-2.0 license. Its source code is on GitHub at helix-editor/helix.

A Kakoune / Neovim inspired editor, written in Rust. The editing model is very heavily based on Kakoune; during development I found myself agreeing with most of Kakoune's design decisions.
