# FFShare (open-source file manager)

> FFShare is a free, open-source file manager for Android. Compress image, video and audio files through ffmpeg before sharing them. It has 1,108 GitHub stars and is released under the GPL-3.0-only license, and you can install it from F-Droid.

FFShare pipes image, video and audio files through ffmpeg before you share them. Doing so reduces the file size and also has the added benefit of stripping all metadata that may be attached to those files. To do this this just share your media files and choose FFShare. The app will open showing the compression progress and when it's done a new share dialog will reappear with the new compressed file. Split APKs The APK downloaded from F-Droid is the app full version with all features and abi compatibility included. A choice of smaller APKs can be found at Source Code This app is open source and hosted on GitHub. A star would be greatly appreciated.
