# FlyingCarpet (open-source file manager)

> FlyingCarpet is a free, open-source file manager for Android and iOS. Cross-platform AirDrop. File transfer between Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, and Windows over ad hoc WiFi. It has 5,339 GitHub stars and is released under the GPL-3.0 license, and you can install it from Google Play and the App Store.

Version 10 is a breaking change: devices running version 10 cannot transfer with version 9 or earlier — you'll get a version-mismatch message instead. Update Flying Carpet on every device you transfer between.
